An ankle fracture is a break to one or more of the bones, which make up the ankle joint.
A fractured ankle can range from a simple break in one bone, which may not stop you walking completely, to multiple fractures that force the joint out place and may require no weight bearing for several months.
The severity of the injury is diagnosed by x-ray and treatment is ranges from casting to surgical intervention depending on the degree of injury.
Please find below information on ankle fractures, what to expect prior to and during surgery as well as post surgery recovery information.
